Just a week ago, at the Players Championship...
The Trill of near Victory...putt made. The Agony of Defeat...putt missed.
But that was last week...
Going into the fourth round at the Crown Plaza Invitational, David Toms said that the difference between his 74 on Saturday and his two 62's on Thursday and Friday was the small things...the little breaks that did not go his way. (Sound familiar?) After just missing victory at the Players Championship by missing a playoff putt last week, 44year old Toms did not retreat, and put himself in position to lead this week's tournament by 7 strokes going into Saturday. Raid delay, and a few bad breaks, and he is now one stroke behind the leader going into Sunday play. for the second consecutive week, he has the show Team Bogey how to keep battlin', especially when the breaks aren't going his way, and as was illustrated last week, he has his own 'next generation', (his son), who has and will serve as inspiration for him to Keep Battlin'. We will see what happens on Sunday.
