While some will try to find issue with Tiger Woods withdrawing from the Players Championship after shooting six over par through his first nine holes, those who are veterans of sports wars, ligamentous laments, and cartilaginous carnage themselves, will merely say, "I feel your pain", and wish him the will to keep battlin' through his injuries.

Meanwhile, we can keep an eye on the leader board and realize that after day one, we still have Phil, to provide the occasional thrill, David Duvall is in the middle of it all, and even 54 year old Mark O'Meara is getting his kicks on route to 66.

While there are still three rounds to play, and the endurance of the Tour "youngbloods" will likely play a factor before it's all said and done, these familiar names are giving those of us in the ranks of the ever more often recliner ridden, something to root for.
