So now that the Fedex Cup issue has been settled, and as the bulk of weekend television sports coverage transitions to football, baseball playoffs, and yes, for some, even the beginning of the new NBA season; the closest thing to the Olympics of golf, with it's history of drama and story lines, begins anew this weekend. Already...weather has ramped up the urgency of each match played in the United States vs. Europe classic, as the distinct possibility that this event could be shortened looms large, and Rory McIlroy has said that Woods is an unintimidating challenge currently. The Europeans opened up an early advantage in four-ball competition, at what is essentially their home course, as the Wales open has been played there the last three years, but the U.S. team is used the short window of play after the restart to mount a comeback. Will Tiger be tamed by the upstart McIlroy and friends, or will Bubba and the boys Keep Battlin' and bring the Cup back with them from Across the Pond?...
