Don't Look Now...Epilogue

Well, did you tune in to take a peek to see if Tiger completed his comeback today? Or were you like the guys in the parking lot of the football stadium, beating the traffic home;  until you heard the roars of the crowd that stuck around, and realized that you missed a comeback nobody anticipated.  Tiger did indeed, for the first time in his career, lose a tournament, in which he led by four strokes going into Sunday. The comeback by Graeme McDowell, concluding with the draining of a long birdie putt in the first sudden death playoff hole, at Tiger's Chevron  World Challenge tournament, was well worth the return visit for those who watched in person, or decided to tune in on TV, (just in case).  So what lesson is to be learned from this dramatic turn of events for Team Bogey?

Graeme McDowell showed that nothing is inevitable, and that if you refuse to give in to a misconception that the game is over before it's played; put your head down, keep battlin' and let the chips fall where they may, it might just turn out to be your day.   Tiger Woods showed that he is, was, and always will be, human; both on and off the course.  His new vulnerability, as expressed not only in his play, but in his post tournament demeanor, might just work to gain, or regain him, some Team Bogey empathy...because we all get knocked down, and as he said after losing today, "It was close...we had a good battle out there", the lesson learned is...wait for it...Keep Battlin'.
