Can you imagine getting to the Super Bowl, and with two seconds left in the game, being one foot from the winning touchdown, and not scoring?  Then, after suffering that heartbreaking loss, working to get back to the same position a few years later, only to suffer the same exact fate!?

That is the closest analogy we can come up with for the heartbreak of coming so close to making the cut at the Pebble Beach Pro Am, that Ray Romano must feel...again.

The Title Town Road Warrior Green Bay Packers started fast, overcame dropped passes, injuries to several key players, as well as third and fourth quarter runs by the Pittsburgh Steelers, to become Super Bowl Champions, and the first back to back Team Bogey Battlers.

And so the next to last NFL chapter of the 2010/11 season is written, and we recognize the Green Bay Packers as the latest Team Bogey Battlers.  They traveled to Soldier Field in Chicago to defeat the Bears 21-14, winning the rubber match between the two teams, of three games played this season.
So once again, the road less traveled leads to a dead end, at least when it comes to the fortunes of the Atlanta Falcons, and the New England Patriots, each of whom had first round byes, and each of whom lost their first playoff game, to a team that had to play the week before, and was on the road against them.  The Green Bay Packers, and New York Jets, proved to be up to the challenge as road warriors,  beating the Falcons and Patriots respectively, while the home club Bears and Steelers survived visits from the Seahawks and Ravens respectively.
Bogey team is British sports slang for a team which usually manages to win despite an apparent weakness. Team Bogey is a term more closely associated with those who may not usually win, but Keep Battlin', and eventually do win, despite apparent weaknesses.

Ok, we just can't ignore the timely relevance of the Philadelphia Eagles 28 point comeback on Sunday, December 19th, (see the Newest Team Bogey Battler selection), as it relates to the "Don't Look Now..." and "Don't Look Now...Epilogue" blog entries, of December 4th and 5th.
